The prospect of extended collective licensing (ECL), which is being pushed through Parliament as part of the new Digital Economy Bill, threatens to undermine the livelihoods of photographers and other creators - unless sufficient provision is made for the protection of metadata (by which the photographer/copyright owner of an image can be identified).
